Three major influencers in the global mining industry, The Northern Miner, The Canadian Mining Hall of Fame and Young Mining Professionals, have come together to organize the Mining Legends Speaker Series.
Alternating between Vancouver and Toronto, the Speaker Series is being launched in an earnest effort to take action against the widening knowledge gap in our industry, as well as to give the leaders and experts of our industry an intimate, live platform to share some of their wisdom and experience with a highly engaged audience.
Each event, limited to 100 delegates, will bring together professionals from across the industry to share knowledge, network, and discuss the future of the mining.
Robert Quartermain, P Geo, DSc has 46 years’ experience in the resource industry. Dr. Quartermain is a precious metals entrepreneur and was most recently executive chairman of Pretium Resources Inc. which he founded in October 2010. Prior to Pretium, Dr. Quartermain was the president and chief executive officer of Silver Standard Resources Inc. (now SSR Mining Inc.) for 25 years starting in 1985. In addition to his focus on gold development opportunities, Dr. Quartermain has several wildlife and social justice philanthropic interests. During the development of the Brucejack Mine, Dr Quartermain had extensive engagement with those First Nations and their leadership impacted by the mining activities.
Ms. St-Germain is the Chief Financial Officer of Integra Resources Corp. (TSXV:ITR). She is an experienced mining finance executive with an extensive background in banking, mining finance and financial management. She began her career in investment banking for Dundee Capital Markets Inc. As an investment banker, Ms. St-Germain worked exclusively with mining companies on M&A advisory and financing. In 2013, Ms. St-Germain joined Golden Queen Mining as CFO. During her tenure at Golden Queen, she played an instrumental role in securing project finance and overseeing Golden Queen as it transitioned from development to production. She joined Integra Gold as CFO in early 2017 and helped oversee the sale to Eldorado Gold Corporation in July 2017 for C$590 million.
Ms. St-Germain is a director of Osisko Mining (TSX:OSK) and Ascot Resources (TSX:AOT). Andree is also a board member of the Association for Mining Exploration BC.
Andree holds an MBA (2009) and received her Institute of Corporate Directors, Director (ICD.D) designation from the ICD-Rotman Directors Education Program in 2021.
